New signings at Warringah
Warringah Concert Brass is pleased to announce the signing of five new members for the 2006 season. The new additions will add to a band that has been picking up momentum over recent years.
Scott Marsh, previously principal cornet with Sydney Congress Hall Band has come back from the non playing ranks to join the solo cornet section.
John Corley, formerly with Midland Brick will also add strength to the cornet section.
John has been guest soloist with the Melbourne Staff band on a number of occasions.
Robert Turner will bring a depth of experience to the cornet section after spending many years with the Chalk Farm Band (UK) and Sydney Congress Hall Band.
Phil Wilson returns to playing after a 7 year break. Phil’s outstanding ability will be an asset to the horn section at WCB. Phil played Solo Horn for a number of years with Sydney Congress Hall Band, for many years prior to that Phil was Principal horn of the famous Enfield Citidel Band (UK).
Colin Burrows is acknowledged as one of the leading young professional trombone players around town. Colin’s considerable talents on the Bass Trombone will add greatly to our already strong trombone section.
Warringah Concert Brass welcome the new additions to the team and look forward to a successful year in 2006.

Adjudicator, John Morrison, jazz drummer extraordinaire, awarded the prize to Warringah after a hotly contested battle with CNL Brass, Parramatta City Brass, Campbelltown/Camden Concert Band and Sutherland Shire Brass, all winners of their respective regional contests.
