Sarah Noble
Sarah started her musical life at age 5 when she was enrolled into piano lessons every Wednesday afternoon after school. Once she realised the small amount of talent she had as a youngster, she thought the next step should be to join the school band at age 8, and what better instrument to play than the Flute!......yes that right, the FLUTE.
Sarah was doing quite well for a few years on the Flute until she met Jack Saunders (founder of WCB) who told her she shouldn’t play in a 'squeaker' band and she should join a 'real' band. A brass band!
So, the following Monday night she was up at Terrey Hills Public School learning all about the Cornet and the strange but wonderful sounds it could make. 13 years later and we still can’t get rid of her! Sarah competed in her 13th Nationals in 2008 and is very proud of Warringah’s achievements over the years.
In her spare time when she’s not at band practice, or organising the bands travel arrangements, Sarah attempts to work 8 hours a day as a Loyalty Marketing Specialist for a large travel and tourism company. Many 'work' tasks include traveling to exotic places such as Fiji, Vanuatu and Hawaii as well as all over Australia. Many of her fellow band members believe she has the best job in the world, but she insists it’s 'all work and no play'. Yeah right!
Update: April 08 - For reasons unknown to even herself, Sarah got bored with traveling around the world and has decided to sell body parts instead. If anyone is in need of a new knee, hip, shoulder, finger or ankle, she is the person to talk to!
Sarah currently sits on 2nd Cornet for WCB however is quite the seat tart having played almost every cornet part at some stage in her WCB career. She even played 2nd Tenor Horn at one stage and was principle Triangle player for a state contest some years back before coming to her senses and moving back to Cornet. Who knows where she will end up next!
